Grammy-nominated Nigerian musician Davido said that he donated 300 million naira to orphanages around Nigeria as his yearly contribution to the nation details of disbursement tomorrow.
Davido revealed this information on Tuesday in an Instagram post.
The Tuesday, February 20 pledge is the result of Davido’s Adeleke Foundation, which he established in 2022 with the aid of other nonprofit organizations in an effort to assist children who are at risk.
In July of 2023, he declared that 13,818 children had benefited from the foundation’s donation of more than $200 million to national orphanages. In 2024, he further committed to make another donation.
According to the arts and entertainment online source xtribeafrica, he stated in the press release released at the time, “I founded the DAF in 2022 with a strong desire and passion to continually assist and create a proper framework for the ongoing charitable works to benefit the good people of Nigeria…”
The artist started the charity custom in 2021, following his birthday. He disclosed his bank account details on his Twitter (now X) page, and as a result, over ₦200 million in donations were made.
