Palestinian women in the Gaza Strip on Friday detailed the struggles they face and claimed that the war has robbed them of their rights as the world observes International Women’s Day.
Many of them claim that when they were relocated to the southern part of the enclave, they lost contact with their spouses and are unaware of what became of them.

Three main aspects of a Palestinian woman’s life are her priorities. The mother of a martyr, the wife of a man who has vanished, or the spouse of a martyr. These are the current circumstances facing women in the Gaza Strip.”
She claims that even if they want to use the restroom, they must wait in line to acquire food or water.
Since the Israel-Hamas conflict started five months ago, 9,000 women have died in the Gaza Strip, according to UNRWA, the UN organization for Palestinian refugees. Many more are thought to remain missing beneath the debris of structures.
According to the report, 63 women are slain in Gaza on average every day, 37 of them are “mothers who leave their families behind.”
Following the extremist group’s raid on Israel on October 7, during which they killed about 1,200 people, primarily civilians, and kidnapped about 250 more, Israel began its offensive.
The Gaza Health Ministry revised the number of wounded to 72,402 and the total death toll to 30,878 at the same time as UNRWA’s declaration. It stated that women and children made up 72% of the deceased.
The UN agency demanded a truce in Gaza, citing very unhygienic living conditions, a scarcity of menstrual hygiene supplies, and women giving birth without even the most basic medical help.
