Ujiri expresses sympathy to Rwandans on this day of remembrance

On the occasion of the 30th commemoration of the Genocide against the Tutsi, Masai Ujiri, co-founder of Giants of Africa and the Toronto Raptors, sent a message of comforting and good wishes to the people of Rwanda.

Activities for the 30th commemoration of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi were started in Rwanda on Sunday, April 7.

The commemoration, which has as its subject “Remember-Unite-Renew,” is an opportunity to honor the more than 1,000,000 lives lost during the Genocide and to consider how far the nation has come in the last 30 years in terms of development.

“We commemorate the 30th rememberance of the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi today with a spirit of remembrance and solidarity,” Ujiri remarked.

Ujiri is a significant ally of Rwanda and has supported important initiatives including the construction of Zaria Courts, a sports complex in Kigali, which has influenced the nation’s sports sector.
