At the Basic Military Training School in Kaweweta, Nakaseke District, today, Officer Cadets of Intake 18/long received a presentation on servant leadership from General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Chief of Defence Forces. They were reminded by General Kainerugaba, who is also the Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations, that servant leadership is a formidable strategy that has the ability to transform the military via acts of outstanding service. “Your deeds inspire human beings,” said General Kainerugaba.
He gave the Cadets advice on how to be a servant leader, empathizing with others, being humble, and being aware of the needs and sentiments of the soldiers they command. He asked them to put their soldiers’ well-being first and stand by them in times of need. The Cadets were also urged by General Kainerugaba to constantly strive for better, to own up to their faults, and to receive advice from others. Being flawless is not the goal of leadership. It’s all about ongoing development,” he declared.
Senior officers and instructors from the Basic Military Training School, Kaweweta, as well as Brigadier General Bonny Geoffrey Wolimbwa, the school’s commandant, attended the talk.
